1.the Utes beat Michigan! WHOO-HOO!!
2.singing silly songs to Liam and hearing him giggle
3.that Luke talks incessantly and since I am getting better at really listening to him, he really has some brilliant and interesting things to say
1.that I did not have to charge tonight
2.I was able to successfully start an IV with on a pediatrician with an anesthesiologist husband (they were both super nice but it still made me nervous)
3.that the stupid guy that "cleaned" our carpets is coming back to fix them in the morning--satisfaction guaranteed. Hopefully that is achieved quickly.

And an extra thing I am grateful for in relation to #3-that my boys learned a valuable lesson about work ethics and honesty. And, no one should go to the Frontier Chem-Dry--they do a CRAPPY job. Just a little fyi.

All you need is Luvs

I wanted to post this yesterday but after this particular incident happened, I felt like I was putting out fires the rest of the day so did not have time to sit down and provide myself therapy by letting it out.

I guess any mom knows that anytime it is quiet in a household full of kids, usually something is wrong. I was on the phone trying to figure out bussing schedules, daycare, and work schedules (thank you Justin for helping me through my emotional breakdown). I had just gotten things sorted out when I walked into my room and Luke immediately says: "Liam did it-he dumped out the Luvs." Oh, no. I went into my bathroom and there, in the full bathtub was an entire package of diapers soaked to the brim. I was actually laughing inside because really, what else can you do? As I was cleaning out the bathtub lugging the wet diapers outside to the garbage can, Luke was dancing around the house singing "All you need is Luvs."

This brings me to the 3 things I am grateful for yesterday:
1. that Heavenly Father blessed me with patience
2. that he also blessed me with enough energy to make it through the day
3. that my September 2 deadline to begin potty training is next week

I asked Liam what fun thing he wanted to do today. His response was: "Wide, Disneywand?" Looks like we need to plan another trip.

I just found this blog and I just want to pass it on to everyone. This cute mom and her husband (Mr. Nielsen as she calls him) were in a fiery plane crash about a week ago and in critical condition in Arizona. She is originally from Provo. There is a fund set up for her and her husband that you can donate through Paypal.

It is amazing to think that their lives are totally changed forever. I saw a cute picture of them at a baseball game and now they are mummies in the burn unit. She did an adorable back to school dinner for her kids (which I might have to steal her idea) just days before this happened.I cannot imagine the pain and the rehab and the intense therapy they will have to endure and the long road ahead of them. I cannot believe that I think that my life is hard and I think I found this blog to humble me and make me realize what I truly have. I am always worried that I don't do enough with my boys or that we don't do exciting things every day. It is the little things that matter and the memories that we create that make our lives meaningful. If I get caught up and just focus on the next "big" adventure, my life and their lives will pass me by.

I don't know why this blog put me on a soapbox, but I just need to remember what really matters. Here's to making the little things matter and creating traditions that will last a lifetime.

Ohhh, so funny. I heart Dwight.

Into the wild, blue yonder

On Saturday, we were astounded to figure out that we had an acutal FREE Saturday to spend together. Justin didn't have any homework, I was actually rested from work, the world was our canvas. We wanted to do something that we had never done before so we went to the Aerospace Museum in Layton and had a fabulous time.

I had wanted to take the boys here last time they were off track but things got crazy and we never made the trek. I am SO glad that Justin was there because he was all excited about telling the boys about the planes so I am sure they got much more out of the experience than if I just took them. We made a cute little veteran friend who gave us A LOT of information-luckily after a few minutes I had an out because Liam ran off but poor Justin was trapped for about 20 minutes until he was able to get away. I do think it is neat though that they have volunteers there that are dedicated and excited about their jobs. All in all it was a fabulous experience and we topped off the day with a treat from Sonic. Does it get any better?

Goodbye, Kimber

Once Liam turns three, he has "outgrown" home speech therapy visits. We were super sad on August 4th because this was his last visit with Kimber. She is such a fantastic person and we have grown to love her over the last year. We know that she will be able to meet other wonderful children and help them as much as she has helped Liam and we are grateful that we were able to enjoy her talents and awesome personality! Thank you for all you did for us and hopefully we can see you again soon!

Okay, I have a serious problem

Well, this is quite embarassing but what do you do. I have a SERIOUS stalking problem. This revelation reared its ugly head at work tonight. I check my friend's blogs quite often which I consider normal. However, there is a particular family on one of my friend's blogs that I don't even know that I am obsessed with. I think I also see what they are up to at least twice a week. I don't think that I am jealous of their life, they just lead a very interesting one and I LOVE it.
Anyway, I was standing at the nurses station getting report and I saw a familiar face walking down the hall going to visit a family member who had just had their baby. I recognized this as my fav family's sister in law. And the scary part is that I knew EXACTLY where I knew her from.

Does anyone know where I might find a therapy group?

I am always grateful for friends, but this week I am particularly thankful for three in particular...you will know who you are.

1. The friend who confronted me about a potential conflict between us. Luckily, nothing turned out to be wrong, it was just a rumor started by a misunderstanding. I am grateful that we are close enough that she would come directly to me to talk about things and not let stupid rumors get between us.
2. I am grateful for another friend that also laughed this off and as the Beatles song goes-"I wanna hold your hand."
3. I am very grateful for the friend who didn't make me feel bad about calling in sick when there was not another charge nurse on so I could stay home and be a mom to Liam. You will never know the guilt that tears at me when I call in to work and I am so happy that you were able to help me put things in perspective. Friend 2 also said to me "At the end of the day, it is just work." Family definately comes first and I thank you for being so understanding and kind.
