Seven is heaven!
A couple more from Luke
The other day I was taking Luke to school and he was looking through my purse and found my gum. I love the Orbit brand and he asked me what it said. I told him, "Orbit." "What's an orbit?" I proceeded to tell him that an orbit is a planet's path around the sun and it goes in an oval. I thought that was sufficient until he asked me if the planets melted and went into the box for gum!
We were at Chili's for Nicholas' birthday and he handed out coasters for everyone and said, "There, now everyone has a lilypad!"

Yay for Justin!
My family has long awaited the arrival of a cheesecake factory and it finally opened--just in time for Justin's birthday which was on November 3. My dad waited for about 3 hours so we could eat there and it was worth the wait! The food was delicious as usual and we got three different kinds of cheesecake to share, my favorite was the dulce de leche and Justin's was the pumpkin cheesecake. We are so glad that Justin had a birthday so we could have a reason to go eat there! Justin, I love you!

Witches and pumpkins
On October 29, we made our annual trip to Gardner Village to see the witch display! It is always fun and this year we stayed a little longer and the boys got to feed the fish and ducks and even saw a water snake which they thought was pretty cool. Afterward, we stopped at the candy shop to get jelly bellies and a Diet Coke for mom...to calm my nerves. That night we carved pumpkins and we all had a good time. It was Liam's first time really getting into things and he did pretty well. He does NOT like to have his hands dirty so he would touch the pumpkin guts with the back of his hands, not his fingers. The boys drew the faces on their pumpkins themselves and they did a pretty good job! See what you think!

PARTY!
On Sunday the 28th, Justin and I threw a little Halloween party with our families at our house. It was so fun--everyone dressed up and we had a gross menu that included mummy toes, toad's eye soup, bat poop, and everyone's favorite: kitty litter. We love our family and are grateful that we are close enough to get together on a regular basis. The kids were so funny though-they kept asking me when we were going to have dessert and I told them that the kitty litter was their dessert...they didn't like that idea too much so after a few times of asking me, I finally broke down and gave them good old fashioned ice cream!
Halloween!
Well, the time has come again for costumes and it could not have come too soon. We love Halloween and plan the costumes about 3 months (or more in Liam's case) in advance. This year, Nicholas is a skeleton, Andrew is Wolverine from X-Men, Luke is a mummy (NOT a ghost!), and Liam is Elvis. All of them look adorable! On the 26th, we had the school parade and then on Friday night, the boys and Justin went to a trick or treat thing at Sylvia's work. I told them that they don't need to go trick or treating on Halloween and I was met with blank stares. Ahhh, let the sugar highs begin!

pumpkin patch
On October 10, Luke, Liam, and I met up with my friend from work, Erica Gardner, and her son Ty to go to the pumpkin patch. It's this cute little place that had a mini corn maze and a long row of tractors that the kids could sit on. Luke ran through that maze about 15 times and Liam loved the tractors...when he would sit on them he would yell "E-I-E-I-O!" I don't know how he made the connection between a tractor and a farm since we don't go to farms very often, but it was cute. Liam and Ty are still getting to know each other but by the end they were sorting the smaller pumpkins into baskets. They will be friends soon enough!
