adventure *days 7 & 8*

On Tuesday we started the day playing against the BCC Patriots from Maryland. And guess what? WE WON!

It was so nice to finally have the boys reap some benefits from all their hard work.

My sister and her girls came up from New York City to watch a couple games and spend the rest of our vacation with us.

Cute little Olive...

...and Caroline with my dad.

This smile was worth the drive across the country. Uphill. Both ways.

Walking off the field victorious. Finally.

Our next game was against the Oak Mountain Baseball Club from Alabama. We lost 11-4.

After the game they asked the team to pray with them. When they asked Bridger, one of our players, to offer the prayer he answered with "I said it last night." There was a good laugh at that and then he went on to offer quite a nice prayer that included thanking Heavenly Father for allowing them to play in this tournament and that they were able to have this experience.

After the games Nick ate dinner with us at the house and even though it was a simple dinner of brats and pasta salad, he was so excited because he was sick of all the cafeteria style food that was being served for meals at the Dreams Park. It was fun to have him home for a little while and after we ate dinner he headed over to his friend's parent's cabin to go fishing. And what do you know, he actually caught something!

The rest of us decided to do something a bit different. On Tuesday evenings the super extravagant hotel in town puts on concerts in its backyard.

The view was stunning. The hotel sits right on the lake so we were able to listen to wonderful big band music and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I wish I lived near a lake. Or an ocean. I would even take a stream. I absolutely love water and how I feel when I am around it. Everytime we go on a vacation that puts us near water, I try to figure out a way to move there. Unfortunately, that is unrealistic right now but hopefully one day my dream will come true.

The boys loved throwing rocks in the pond, running down the steep hills-- just running around in general. rolling down the hills, and just be boys. We did all of these activities before the concert started but I think we got a little rowdy during the concert because there weren't very many people there and so every little sound would be noticed and we did get a few snarky looks. It did get a bit chilly though so we headed out early.

Olive was very excited to show everyone her crazy faces. A lot.

This place really truly is absolutely beautiful.
